Linda Lou Babbitt, 84, of Adrian formerly of Battle Creek, died Friday, August 30, 2024 with her daughter by her side at the ProMedica Charles & Virginia Hickman Hospital. Linda was born on April 20, 1940 in Lacey, Michigan to Gerald and Arminta (Thompson) Powell she was the youngest of their seven children. She was married to Joseph Babbitt and he preceeded her in death.
Linda was employed as a nurses aid and most recently a bus driver for Adrian Public Schools. In her free time she enjoyed reading and solving puzzles on her iPad. Linda was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan and cherished her autographed baseball bat from Miguel Cabrera. She will be remembered as a kind, caring woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Strachn and many nieces and nephews. Linda was preceeded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; siblings, Robert Powell, Ivan Powell, Jerry Powell, Rollie Powell, Maxine Dornton and Wanda Sanford; and former husband and father of her daughter, Clare Strachn.
Per Linda’s wishes cremation will take and no services will be held at this time.
