Morenci, MI – Michigan’s southernmost Labor Day bridge walk took place in Morenci Monday morning. The Kiwanis Club of Morenci carried on the tradition of the Silver Creek Bridge Walk for its 30th year. The 83-foot walk across the southernmost bridge in Michigan brought together residents of Morenci, Lenawee County, the region, and beyond.

Community leaders, local politicians, and residents took advantage of the opportunity to speak at the event…but only for up to 60 seconds. A short walk, with short speeches. Heather Sarnac, Community and Economic Development Director for the City of Morenci, and member of the Kiwanis Club of Morenci, spoke with WLEN News after the walk…

The Kiwanis Club of Morenci provided a hot dog lunch for a free-will donation. Sarnac talked about the many groups that were involved in the Labor Day celebration…
