
Ronald “Ron” Leon Shulters, age 81, of Tipton, Michigan, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, August 19, 2024
Ron was born on March 28, 1943, in Morenci, MI, the third child of Aubrey “Bud” and Norma (Metcalf) Shulter’s eight children. He graduated from Adrian High School in and went into the work force being employed at Adrian Steel.
After a year of work, Ron joined the United States Air Force and served our country for four years. Upon Ron’s discharge from service, he returned to Adrian Steel and worked in the role of Chief Design Engineer. Ron was a conscientious employee and was highly regarded by his peers. Retiring after 42 years of committed service, Ron was honored by having a room named in his honor at Adrian Steel.
On July 26, 1968, Ron was united in marriage to Sharon Fogelsong, and they have shared 56 wonderful years together. During their marriage they raised 3 children, traveled extensively and shared many camping adventures up north. Ron belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose and was a lifetime member of the NRA. When he was younger, Ron enjoyed training horses; as he became older, Ron’s focus turned more to bird watching and carpentry. He made beautiful furniture for his family and birdhouses that decorated his property.
In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by their children, Joedie (Sharon) Shulters of Lady Lake, FL, Tracy Shulters of Cape Coral, Florida and Randy (Jennifer) Shulters of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Nathan, Cayston, Landyn, Ryan, Emma and Anna; great-grandchildren, Nate, Leia, James, Abel and Fabian; siblings, Shirley Wallace, John Shulters, David (Judy) Shulters, Bill Shulters and Sue Fuss; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Ralph Shulters, and twin siblings who died in infancy.
Following Ron’s wishes, he was laid to rest with a private graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Adrian.
