WANDA SUE BOIES, age 78 years of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Wanda was born on November 7, 1945, in St. Charles, Missouri to Dexter and Leona (Lewis) Phillips. She attended Addison Schools until transferring to Hudson Schools her junior year. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1963.

On October 19, 1963, she married the love of her life, Donald E. Boies at Sacred Heart Church in Hudson and became a lifelong member of the church.

She worked at Thorn Hospital as a nurse’s aide for 5 years and then at M & S Manufacturing for 10 years. She also worked at Speilman’s Hardware for 5 years after she retired. Her favorite job was being a GRANDMA.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Don and their children, Brenda (David) Aungst, Barbie (Matt) Butts and John (Suzy) Boies. She had 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren whom she adored. She is also survived by her sister, Linda McCoy and sister and brother-in-laws, Delores Morris, Kathy (Dan) Miller, Albert (Verna) Boies and Cliff (Machelle) Boies. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Clarence “Butch” Morris, sister, Shirley Bates, and brother-in-laws, Joe Weber, and Don McCoy. She was also preceded in death by her special friends, Ruth Keil and Elwanda (Cookie) Smith.

At Wanda’s request, there will be no service. The family is planning a Celebration of Life for a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson.
