Maggie “Margaret” Garza, age 79, formerly of Adrian, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the home of her daughter in Arlington, TX, where she has resided for the past three years. She was born December 18, 1944, in Adrian, to the late Raymond and Eva (Garibay) Garcia, Sr.

Raised in Blissfield, Margaret attended Blissfield Community Schools and moved to Adrian upon marriage to Vincente V. Garza on June 24, 1972. Together, they raised a daughter and enjoyed over 24 years of memories as husband and wife until his passing on November 3, 1996.

Maggie worked for over 20 years in the cafeteria at the former Bixby Medical Center. Catholic by faith, she was a longtime faithful parishioner of Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Campus. She enjoyed being in the company of her friends, as well as dancing, bowling, playing cards, gardening, traveling, and going to the movies. In recent years she was blessed with the companionship of her beloved granddog, Niko. She loved to keep in touch and visit with her many nieces and nephews. Margaret is remembered as a loving mother and a kind and faithful friend who blessed the lives of many.

Surviving is her daughter, Yvonne (Ottoniel) Morales of Arlington, TX; two sisters, Sally Lane of KY, and Mary Lou Garcia of TX. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Raymond Garcia, Jr., and Albert (Carmen) Garcia.

The family will receive friends at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian on Thursday, August 22, 2024, beginning at 4:00 p.m. and concluding with a vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Michal Newman, OSFS, on Friday, August 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Campus. Rite of Committal will follow in Hunt Cemetery, Madison Township.
