Dorothy Ann (Gary) Brownell, age 79, of Adrian, MI died on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at home surrounded by her family under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.
Dorothy was born on April 28, 1945 in Hodges, Alabama, the fourth, of William and Ludie (Gills) Gary’s six children.
When Dorothy was younger, she worked at Buckeye Products for over 10 years; however, her true calling was being a caregiver to others. Dorothy worked as a nurse aide in long-term care settings and in adult foster care homes. Her warm personality and the love she showed others made an impact on everyone she met. Dorothy enjoyed going camping with family, singing karaoke whenever she got the chance and trying her luck at the casino. She was naturally artistic, creating beautiful oil paintings and raising a variety of roses in her flower garden. Dorothy decorated the family home to always feel warm and inviting.
Dorothy met her “Mr. Wonderful”, Gary D. Brownell forty-seven years ago. On July 2, 1985, Dorothy and Gary were united in marriage in Las Vegas, NV. During their life together, they enjoyed traveling to the Smoky Mountains and spending time sitting out on the back porch they built together.
In addition to her husband Gary, Dorothy is survived by her children, Randy Felver and Tisha (Steve) Warner; grandchildren, Tyson (Brandy) Felver, Zachary (Chelsea) Felver, Colby (Ashley) Felver, Adam (Melissa) Felver, Rachel Felver, Taylor (Collen) Welch, Clayton Cook, and Taygan Desormeux; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Ella Gary; sister in law, Carla (Chuck) Harsh; and her four-legged buddy, Willie Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Todd Felver; and siblings, Frankie Cook, Betty Ables, Billy Gary and Peggie Sinks.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will begin at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Linda Farley officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.WagleyFuneralHomes.com.
