Adrian, MI – The Lenawee County Solid Waste and Recycling Department has published tips to practice sustainability while back-to-school shopping.

Julie Maurer’s blog post on the County website, titled “Low Waste Back-to-School Shopping,” talked about the Three R’s… Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Here are a few things to consider:

  • Purchase reusable water bottles and food storage containers.
  • Buy certain things in bulk, instead of individual packages. This will reduce packaging waste.
  • Reuse backpacks and school clothes.
  • Recycle as much as you can… check for the triangle on your school supplies.
