
Patricia Gene Long, age 78, of Macon, MI, passed away at home, on August 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 23, 1946 in Saline, MI, the daughter of the late Herbert and Emogene (Koebbe) Morden. On August 5,1978 she married Eric Long at their current residence, and they enjoyed forty-six years together. He survives. Patricia was employed for many years as a secretarial clerk at Tecumseh Products.
Patricia was a long-time member of the Macon United Methodist Church. She also was part of a bowling league and a proud member of the Southern Michigan Street Cruisers Car Club. Favorite past times included scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, camping, and going to the races watching Nathan. Most of all she enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities.
In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her children; Lori Ables of Clinton, Susan Ables of Tecumseh, Derek (Lydia) Long of Okemos, MI, Trisha (Ramon “Bug”) Ables-Rosas of Adrian, Nathan (Ronda) Long of Macon, and Tyler (Robyn Hardy) Long of Tecumseh; sisters, Meredith (Herb) Short of Fremont, IN, and Marilyn (Herb) Bagby of Macon, MI; twenty three grandchildren, Chelsea, Taylor, Luke, Jared, Morgan, Ericka, Brittany, Kaley, Garet, Blake, Brady, Alan, Alana, Isaac, Jade-Lynn, Krystiana, Arieanna, Kelsi, Makenzi, Aliyah, Rowan, Lane, and Lexi; nineteen great-grandchildren; two “bonus” sons, Dennis Colburn and Joseph Wysocki; a loving grand-dog, Goose; and a loving faithful companion dog, Buddy. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her sister Suzy Bishop; a brother, Max Morden; a granddaughter, Hope Cuellar; and her dog, Missy.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. A funeral service will take place 2:00 pm, Friday, August 16, 2024, at the funeral home, with the Reverends Rich Rentner and Rob Gilshire presiding. Interment will be in Macon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Macon United Methodist Church or Hospice of Lenawee. Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes.
