Adrian, MI – A male subject fatally shot himself inside the Grace Christman Medical Building in Adrian Wednesday morning. The Adrian Police Department and Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to reports of shots fired at approximately 10:52 a.m.
First responders arrived to find that a male subject had entered an office on the second floor of the building and had shot himself. Officers and Deputies conducted a protective sweep of the rest of the facility to ensure that there was no further threat to anyone present. They located no additional threats.
The investigation into why the subject chose this location is ongoing. No additional staff or visitor was injured, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety directly related to this event. The Adrian Police Department will not be releasing the name of the subject at this time.
The Adrian Police Department was assisted by the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department, Adrian Fire Department, ProMedica Security, the Lenawee County Medical Examiner, Lenawee County Victim Services, and Lenawee County Central Dispatch.
