Robert “Bob” William Lombard, age 87, of Blissfield, MI passed away on August 12, 2024, at Blissfield Place surrounded by his family and with the support of Careline Hospice.
Bob was born on April 19, 1937 in Adrian, Michigan, the oldest of Louis and Helen (Sharp) Lombard’s three children. He graduated from Blissfield High School with the Class of 1956. After graduation, Bob served his country in the United States Army.
On August 25, 1962, Bob married Agatha “Aggie” Bell at Trinity Lutheran in Riga, MI. They were just a few weeks shy of celebrating 60 years together when she died on August 1, 2022. Together they shared many wonderful memories of raising their children, growing in faith, and going camping with their fifth wheel.
Bob worked in the automotive manufacturing field for over 30 years. He started out at the General Motors Fisher Body Plant in Adrian until they closed their doors in 1984; going on to work at the Powertrain Plant in Toledo, Ohio where he retired from in 2000. Bob was a hard worker and proud to be a member of the United Auto Workers Union. Bob was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Riga.
He is survived by his children, Sonya Lombard of Cartersville, Georgia and Daryl Lombard of Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Taylor, Mackenzie and Gunnar Lombard; and brother, Gary Lombard. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Aggie; and sister, Carol Ann in infancy.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Dianna Raine officiating. There will be a memorial visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins. Bob will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
