
Lambertville, MI – The Monroe County Fire Investigation Team and Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fatal fire that occurred in the 7900 block of Case Drive in Lambertville Monday morning. Sheriff Troy Goodnough says that the fire was called in to 911 at approximately 9:15am.
Numerous callers said that a structure ‘blew up’ in the area of Case Drive and Linwood Drive. Monroe County Deputies responded to the area and located a detached garage on fire with damage consistent from an explosion.
The deputies immediately checked nearby structures for occupants and warned them of the fire. The Bedford Township Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by the Whiteford Township Fire Department.
After extinguishing the fire, a search of the garage was conducted which resulted in human remains being located inside of a vehicle parked in the garage. The human remains were transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy. Anyone with information is asked to contact the detective bureau at 734-240-7530.
