Bethel Jean Seegert, age 87, of Tecumseh, MI, formerly of Britton, MI, passed away, August 5, 2024 at Brookdale Senior Living, Adrian, Michigan. She was born March 12, 1937, in Bronson, MI, the daughter of Lee and Della (Teller) Halstead. On January 23, 1954, she married Charles Dale Seegert at Blissfield Lutheran Church, Blissfield, MI. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2005.
Bethel was a former member of U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary, Tecumseh Flotilla.
She and her late husband owned and operated Seegert Trailer Sales, Britton, MI
for 11 years. Bethel traveled the entire United States during her lifetime. She was known for crocheting baby blankets.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie (Bob) Downing of Britton; son, Dale (Donna) Seegert of Brooklyn; four grandchildren, Charley (Karle) Downing, Patrick (Lisa) Downing, and Lezlee (Zack Hofbauer) Downing, and Dana Davis, Ryan (Sarah) Robinson, and Luke (Gail) Robinson; 8 great grandchildren, Cameron and Jacob Davis, Kelsey and Chase Downing, Bernadette, Jack, Sean, Mariska.
In addition to her husband Charles, she was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Richard Halstead.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2024 at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh, MI, with Rev. James Schneck officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway Township, MI.
Visitation will also take place on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh, MI from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service.
