
Toledo, MI – The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred Thursday at around 3pm on State Route 2 in Lucas County.
The two vehicle crash occurred when, according to the Patrol, an 88 year old man from Arizona failed to yield for a posted stop sign on Garden Road at the intersection of SR 2. His 2006 Kia Sorento was then struck by a 2014 Dodge Journey driven by a 16 year old male from Swanton. The passenger in the Kia, an 87 year old woman from Arizona, sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
As a result of the crash, the Dodge drove off the roadway, struck a mailbox and a fence…injuring the 16 year old. He was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
The driver of the Kia was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. There was a 15 year old passenger in the vehicle with the 16 year old. They claimed no injury and was released at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
