Laura D. Halberstadt, age 71, of Tecumseh, Michigan, passed away, July 23, 2024 under the care of Hospice of Lenawee, at Lynwood Manor, Adrian, Michigan.
She was born on February 2, 1953 in Tecumseh, MI, the daughter of George and Evalyn (Wright) Halberstadt.
Laura graduated from Tecumseh High School, Class of 1971. She went on to earn an Associate Degree from Jackson Business College, specializing in clerical administration.
She started her career as a Federal Employee doing secretarial work for 36 years with the United States Coast Guard, finishing her career based in Chicago, IL. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years when she lived in Ludington, MI.
Laura was best known for her gift to gab, corny jokes, and her over the top personality.
Laura is survived by her brothers, Gene (Maria) Halberstadt and Eric (Renata) Halberstadt; 8 nieces and nephews whom she really loved, Chris (Tara) Halberstadt, Jen (James) MacIntyre, Patrick (Tiffany) Halberstadt, Toni (Mikk) Mead, David Halberstadt, Erin (Mike) Snyder, Matthew (Nick Hathaway) Halberstadt, Alex (Megan) Halberstadt; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, with Reverend Connie Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh, MI.
Visitation will also take place on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan, from 10:00 AM until time of service.
