Adrian, MI – Thousands of country music fans will be flooding into Lenawee and Jackson Counties this weekend for the Faster Horses Festival at Michigan International Speedway. The three-day festival is expected to draw more fans than last year to the three day event, with artists like Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, and Hardy hitting the stage.
With an influx of people coming into our community to attend the event, security is a number one priority for local law enforcement. Cambridge Township Police Chief Jeff Paterson talked to WLEN News about the collaboration between multiple agencies for the weekend…
Chief Paterson continued… telling WLEN News that despite all the resources being allocated to Faster Horses at MIS, Lenawee County will still be covered by law enforcement to keep local communities safe as well…
Chief Paterson told WLEN News that Live Nation, the entertainment company that puts-on Faster Horses, has used a lot of resources to keep people safe. He said that they have been great partners.
As Chief Paterson mentioned… there have been tragedies at Faster Horses, with seven deaths…over two dozen reported cases of criminal sexual conduct, and dozens of assaults taking place over the course of the ten-plus years of the event.
