Barbara Fae Grigg, age 67, of Adrian, died at her home Saturday afternoon, July 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family while under the compassionate care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born June 30, 1957, in Hillsdale, the daughter of Mary Alice (Press) and Ralph Close. She lived her formative years in Buffalo, NY and Hillsdale, where she ultimately graduated from high school with the Class of 1975. She married Anthony Grigg on July 10, 2004. They recently celebrated their 20th anniversary of their marriage, that bonded two families as one.

Barb worked for 32 years as a purchasing agent for the former Venchurs Manufacturing until her retirement in 2019. She was a longtime member of the Adrian Eagles, currently serving as the vice president of its Women’s Auxiliary. A lover of the outdoors, she found great enjoyment in fishing, hunting, and gardening. She also took pleasure in rides on her Harley Davidson motorcycle with her husband. While most of their rides were local, they also ventured at times to Mackinaw City and Kentucky. She is remembered as a great cook and enjoyed baking as well. Her family was her priority, and she rarely missed an event of one of her children or grandchildren. Barb was a tough and independent woman, sometimes stubbornly determined, and was a selfless giver to those she loved.

In addition to her husband, Tony, she is survived by four children, Justin Traxler of Wauseon, OH, Aaron (Ashlynn) Traxler of Wauseon, Siera (Brock) Miller of Blissfield, and Nicholas Grigg of Adrian; two sisters, Shelly (Bob) Snow of Jonesville and Cathy Muehlfeld of Lyons, OH; a brother, Bill Close of KY; two grandchildren, Aiden and Kennedy Traxler; another grandchild anticipated in December; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

In accordance with Barb’s wishes, cremation will take place. The family will receive friends at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian for a memorial visitation on Thursday, July 18, 2024, beginning at 3:00 p.m., and concluding with a memorial service to start at 5:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear vibrant colors to celebrate her life.
