
Chesterfield Twp., OH – Over a dozen fire departments from Lenawee, Fulton, Hillsdale, and Williams County were dispatched to a large fire involving approximately 300 square bales that were sitting in a wheat field in Chesterfield Township, Ohio.
The City of Morenci Fire Department posted a statement about the fire on their social media, saying that it was called in at about 9:40pm Thursday.
The outdoor fire took place in Chesterfield Township. Fire Chief Brad Lonis said that 154,000 gallons of water was used. The City of Morenci and Village of Lyons municipal water systems were utilized to fill tanker trucks.
Chief Lonis said that it was an intentionally set fire, and that the owner lost approximately 300 large bales valued at $22,500.
Many Lenawee County Fire Departments were dispatched: City of Hudson, Village of Clayton, Fairfield Township, Madison Township, Adrian Township, and Cambridge Township.
