Beatrice Gomez, age 72, of Adrian, died early Friday morning, June 28, 2024, at Lynwood Manor. She was born on June 30, 1951, in Adrian, the sixth of ten children of the union of Marcus and Juanita (Garza) Ybarra.
A lifelong Adrian resident, Bea was a lifetime parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she received all of her Holy Sacraments. She worked for over 20 years as a chemical operator at Wacker Chemical before her final eight years of employment in the deli at the former Foodtown supermarket in Adrian. She married Raul C. Gomez on December 12, 1970, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and together they raised four children.
A lover of music, Bea enjoyed dancing, and lived for opportunities when she could dance the night away. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, as well as the occasional shot of Tequilla in her spare time. She was energetic and knew how to have a good time. Bea loved her family above all else, and in later years enjoyed the addition of her beloved grandchildren. She loved spoiling her family with gifts.
Surviving to mourn her loss are her four children, Lisa (Jesus) Baez of Adrian, Antonio (Mary) Gomez of Tecumseh, Adan (Leah) Gomez of Tecumseh, and Lucette Harvey of Adrian; three sisters, Guadalupe Martinez of Universal, TX, Trinidad Flores of Austin, TX, and Roselinda (Nick) Guedea of Adrian; twelve grandchildren, Jesus Jr., Lucas, Evan, Nayeli, Myles, Soraya, Anahi, Marcos, Maximus, Kora, Kristen and Julia; and seven great-grandchildren, expecting two on-the-way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Alice Perez, Erlinda Martinez and Olga Nieto; and brothers, Blass Ybarra, Marcus Ybarra Jr. and Cisco Ybarra.
