Waldron, MI – State Senator Joseph Bellino has applauded the Village of Waldron for earning a state grant to help replace lead pipes in its community.
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy awarded the village of Waldron with a $292,550 Community Technical, Managerial, and Financial Support for Lead Line Replacement grant.
The funds are to support work related to Waldron’s lead service line replacement program, including field verification to be conducted for approximately 190 service lines at properties where lead is suspected but not confirmed or where service line material is unknown but likely contains lead.
Since April, the communities of Adrian, Blissfield and Dundee have also received support from this program.
