Clinton, MI – Clinton Community Schools and the Madison School District have entered into a cooperative agreement through which employees of the Madison School District will provide comprehensive school business and human resources services to Clinton Community Schools.
After 21 years of service, Clinton Business Manager Carol Wahl provided notice that she will retire from the District at the end of this calendar year. Beginning on July 1st, and continuing through December 31, 2024, representatives from the Madison Business Office will work with Ms. Wahl to transition business and human resource functions to the Madison team.
Beginning in 2025, the Madison School District Business Office will support the Clinton administrative team with budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, recruiting and hiring employees, processing employment related documents, administering employee benefits and other programs, and related services.
This cooperative arrangement will result in cost savings for Clinton while generating new revenue for Madison. The agreement is for an initial term of three years, but allows either district to terminate the relationship with advance notice should an unanticipated need exist.
Clinton Superintendent Kevin Beazley stated, “we are excited to partner with the Madison School District in this way. It will provide a substantial cost savings to our district, while also allowing us to receive excellent services from a high-functioning team of professionals who have extensive experience in school district business and human resource functions. In an environment where talent is difficult to find, we are fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to be able to turn to another local school district for assistance.”
Madison Superintendent Nick Steinmetz added, “the Madison School District regularly seeks opportunities to partner with other organizations and institutions when such is deemed to be beneficial to our District. As a District, we are incredibly privileged to have a team of highly experienced and highly qualified school business and human resource professionals who have the capacity to support Clinton Community Schools while at the same time continuing to perform their work for our District. This relationship will create operational efficiencies for both Districts while maintaining excellent services.”
