
Shirley A. Moore, age 91, of Adrian, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian. She was born on September 13, 1931, in Dearborn, MI, to Ewart and Gertrude (Hiveley) Moore. Shirley was employed as a teacher at Evergreen School District. She received her Master of Arts degree in English Language & Literature in May of 1974 from U of M and went on to travel to China, where she taught the English language. After returning to the US, she went to work at the Federal Reserve in Los Angeles, from where she retired. Shirley began to travel the States in her white minivan, which led her to take another position with Arizona State University in Tucson, before making her way back to Michigan to enjoy her retirement years near her brothers and family members.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Davis of Texas; a brother, Dennis Moore of Castle Rock, CO; five grandchildren, Gregory (Valerie) Davis, Marin Davis, Raymond Wright, Lauren Seabolt, and Mallory Clough (Brendan Neeson). She is also survived by a great niece, Sarah Buku, sister-in-law, Nancy Moore, several great-grandchildren as well as the Moore family.
Shirley is preceded in death by two sons, Fred and Andrew Clough, her parents; five brothers, Ronald Moore, Donald Moore, Thomas Moore, Harry Moore, Richard Moore, and a sister, Wanda Dehnke.
