Randy David Wiles, age 67, of Adrian, died late Saturday evening, June 15, 2024, at his home, while under the compassionate care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born on September 17, 1956, in Adrian, to Gilbert and Dolly (Fansler) Wiles.
Randy graduated from Adrian High School in 1974. He worked for Comcast Corporation for 40 years until he was forced to retire due to health issues. He worked as a lineman and ultimately earned the title of head technician. He was often teased about not needing the bucket truck due to his height of 6’8”.
He enjoyed building and could fix anything that needed fixin’. His family considered him Superman because he would help them in every way he could. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, raising rabbits and chickens, and spending time with his family.
He was happily married to Annette (Carl) for 30 years. Randy and Annette worked together promoting antique shows and flea markets, where they made many friends. He was a quiet, gentle giant, loved by all who knew him.
Randy leaves behind a lifetime of memories shared by many. He is survived by his wife whom he adored, Annette, and three daughters, Erica L. Wiles, Heather M. Williams, and Shelby L. Wiles. He also has 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild whom he loved very much, and was looking forward to the arrival of another later this year. Five siblings also survive him, Sandra (Bill) Brady, Gary (Judy) Wiles, Rita (Ralph) Fogarty, Wendy (Perry) Pooley, and Darla Grimes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who looked up to their uncle (quite literally).
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rollin Wiles.
The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at Randy and Annette’s home, 4590 Ogden Highway, Adrian. Private inurnment will take place at Crane Cemetery.
