Barbara A. Brooks, age 63, of Onsted, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 15, 2024, while in the compassionate care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born on September 25, 1960, to Delbert and Alice (Feutz) Edison.
Barb married Craig Allen Brooks on May 23, 1981, at their home church, West Rome Baptist Church. Together they raised two children and enjoyed over 43 years of making memories. She worked as a secretary for many years at Selective Data Systems in Adrian. Barb enjoyed gardening and was an artist as well as a lover of art. She quilted and handcrafted many pieces of stained glass. She was involved in many projects in her church, where she served as deaconess and volunteered in the nursery and nursery church for many years.
To cherish her memory, Barb leaves her loving husband, Craig; son, Austin Brooks; mother, Alice Edison; brother, Scott (Darla) Edison; sisters, Susan (John Birg) Norman and Tammy Lanzarotto; her many nieces and nephews Cate and Brooke Edison, Chelsea (Bill) Mahlburg, Abagail (Vinnie) Cervantes and Augustino and Nina Lanzarotto, Leeann (Craig) McMichael, Landon (Sarah) Duke, Logan Duke and Emma Brooks and her beloved best friends, Howard and Kitty Peters. She was preceded in death by her father and her daughter, Taylor Brooks.
A visitation for Barb will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning one hour prior at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Malin, officiating.
