MANITOU BEACH – Barbara Joann Parker, age 84 of Manitou Beach, died Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Promedica Charles & Virginia Hickman Hospital. Born October 30, 1939, in Leslie, Michigan, she was the daughter of Hobert and Alberta (Bishop) Raymond.
On July 4, 1976, she married Dale Parker and was additionally blessed with his three children.
In her younger years, Barbara worked at the Cherry Nook in Palmyra, and also in sales at Faraday. She was skilled at sewing, crocheting and making blankets. Barbara loved being outdoors. She enjoyed fishing and creating beautiful flower gardens. Other pastimes included reading and playing cards. Barbara was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Lakes.
In addition to her husband, Dale, she is survived by her stepchildren, Yvonne Parker, Denver (Jennifer) Parker and Elliott (Pam) Parker; nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2024, at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian, with Pastor Kurt Lambart officiating. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 11 a.m. until the start of the service.
