ADRIAN- Sharron J. Kinel, age 80, of Adrian, passed away from natural causes on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Adrian Bay Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born October 27, 1943, in Detroit, MI, to Henry George and Lucille Frances (Morgan) Gegot. On October 10, 1987, she married Michael Kinel in Bridgman, MI and he survives.
Sharron was a member of the Holy Family Parish, St. Mary’s Campus, where she served on the Liturgy Committee and was a Eucharist Minister, while teaching religious education. Sharron retired from Tecumseh Products Company in 1998. She was a past President and member of the Optimist Club, a member of the Tau Delta Sorority, past President and Vice President of the Bixby Medical Center Auxiliary, past President of Adrian Community Nursery and Board member. Sharron enjoyed interior decorating and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mike, Sharron is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Pamela) Schuknecht of Portage, MI; one daughter, DeAnne Lewin of Adrian; former son-in-law, Jeffrey Lewin of Adrian; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Schuhknecht of Buchanan; six grandchildren, Morgan, Adam, Maya Schuhknecht, Mikaela (Randy) Payne, Alexandra and Lucas Lewin; two great grandchildren, Sophie and Sadie Payne; and two step-daughters, Susan Kinel of Louisiana and Sandra Conrad of Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Dr, Michael Schuhknecht; step-grandson, Matthew Rawson.
Cremation has taken place. The Funeral Liturgy for Sharron will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, beginning at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Parish, St. Mary’s Campus, with Father Michael Newman, OSFS, presiding. Visitation will also take place on Thursday, beginning at 9:30 AM and until mass begins at the church.
