NORTHWOOD, OH- Sharon Lee Knisel, age 79, formerly of Ogden Township, MI and Hernando Beach, FL died at the Parkcliffe Community in Northwood, OH on Monday, June 3, 2024.
Sharon was born on June 9, 1944, in Adrian, MI, the daughter of Roy and Evelyn (Huff) Wilson.
On May 24, 1980, Sharon married Michael Knisel. They shared a full and happy life together before his death on April 24, 2016, spending time traveling, remodeling houses and enjoying family and friends. They were actively involved in the Blissfield community, spending many years working on the River Raisin Festival committee. They retired together to Hernando Beach, FL where they worked to restore a lovely canal front home.
Sharon worked at Tecumseh Products for over 30 years before retiring in 2009. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Blissfield and later Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Spring Hill, FL. In her retirement, Sharon liked to garden and spend time with her dogs.
She is survived by her stepdaughters, Kandy (David) Houser and Tammy Knisel; 7 grandchildren, Chelsea (Brad) Dixon, Andrew Billington, Abbigail Bjorling, Will Houser, Elizabeth Houser, Gretchen Houser and Lucas Houser; 2 great-grandchildren, Lilly Rouster and Kinsley Dixon; and cousins, Charlene Sprague and Mike Sprague. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Mike Knisel.
Private services were held and burial has taken place at Ogden Zion Cemetery.
