Adrian, MI – The Adrian City Commission passed an amendment to their Code of Ordinances, adding a new article entitled ‘Point of Sale Inspections.’
There has been vocal opposition to the P.O.S. addition at the two recent meetings of the Commission, with local realtors and some city residents telling the governing body that the addition of the rules are government overreach. Opponents also said that adding a Point of Sale Inspection would add an unnecessary cost to buying and selling homes in the city…and could add time to the buying and selling process.
Those in favor of the ordinance change said that it will be another ‘tool in the tool box’ to combat blight issues in the city. An online link to the full approved Point of Sale Inspection ordinance is at the following link, beginning at page 62: https://cms8.revize.com/revize/adrianmi/Document%20Center/Agendas%20and%20Minutes/2024/Agenda%20Packet%206-3-24%20Corrected%20to%20add%20Pride%20Month%20Proclamation.pdf
