ADRIAN – Karoll Ann Ehinger was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 22, 2024.
Karoll was born June 11, 1939, the daughter of Exel Stanton and Lila (Konarska) Ehinger. She was a 1958 graduate of Adrian High School.
Karoll was employed at her parents’ grocery store, The Neighborhood Pantry, until it closed in 1968. She then became a house mother for the Coleman Foundation and other adult care facilities. For many years, Karoll was a friendly face in the Mowat Orchard salesroom.
Karoll was a lifelong member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church where she drove the school bus for many years and was active with the choir and softball team. She enjoyed her time as “Kandy Klown” and was part of the Lenawee County 4-H clowns. When not working or clowning around, Karoll was busy knitting. In her lifetime, Karoll knitted over 100 Christmas stockings for friends and relatives, plus countless sweaters, hats, mittens, scarves, blankets, pet wear and novelties. Karoll’s greatest joy was caring for her beloved pets, especially Topper her horse of 23 years.
She is survived by her brothers, Stanton (Barbara) of Louisiana, MO, Calvin (Darlene) of San Luis Obispo, CA, and Craig (Christine) of Toledo, OH. Aunt Karoll will be missed 91 nephews and nieces, including grands and great grands. Karoll was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Allen and Chad Ehinger.
Memorial services for Karoll will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church with Pastor Brian Keller officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church and School or Hospice of Lenawee.
