ADRIAN- Orvetta Ann Bristoll, age 92, of Adrian, MI died at home on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, with her family by her side and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.
Orvetta was born at home in Adrian, Michigan, on December 7, 1931, the sixth of James M. and Lois F. (VanSchoik) Bristoll’s seven children.
Orvetta graduated from Adrian High School on June 9, 1949. She valued the friendships she made and spent many years working on class reunions, luncheons, and newsletter updates; which helped her classmates keep in touch. Orvetta enjoyed singing, listening to music of the big band era, watching the Detroit Tigers and cheering on the many Michigan sports teams. She has many fond memories from her time at Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) where she worked for 43years, and after retiring she subbed until COVID changed things in 2020.
On March 30, 1950, Orvetta married Alex J. Lanczki in Angola, Indiana. They spent many years together raising their children.
Orvetta is survived by her children, Christine (Walter) Qualmann of Naples, FL, Mary Westfall, Paul (Anita) Lanczki, of Adrian, Joseph Lanczki of Ypsilanti, Patrick (Katie Cunningham) Lanczki of Knoxville, TN, and James R. Demlow of Tecumseh. She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Alex; and their daughters, twins, Cherry and Laura Lynn Lanczki and Barbara Demlow; brothers, Eugene H. and James N. Bristoll; and sisters, Lois Burdine, Carol Bristoll, Marguerite (Lee) Crane and Virginia (Don) Mitchell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lenawee Humane Society, Lenawee County Department on Aging- Meals on Wheels program, and Hospice of Lenawee.
