Lenawee County Law Enforcement, Community, Honor those Lost in the Line of Duty

Adrian, MI – Law enforcement, their families, and other supporters gathered in Adrian’s Oakwood Cemetery Wednesday morning for the Police Memorial Ceremony.

May 12th through 18th is ‘Police Officer Week’ in the County…with National Peace Officers Memorial Day falling on the 15th.

Those in attendance heard from a few speakers, including Lenawee County Sheriff Troy Bevier (pictured below, left), Adrian Mayor Angie Sword-Heath, County Commissioners Jim Van Doren and Dustin Krasny, former law enforcement officer and politician Mike Rogers.

Cambridge Township Police Chief Jeff Patterson was in attendance, and reflected upon what this day means for those people in the profession, including his own family…

 

Eight members of law enforcement have died in the line of duty in Lenawee County:

Sheriff’s Deputy Stanley Hoisington. Michigan State Police Troopers Calvin Jones, Rodger Adams, Dugald A. Pellot, and Byron Erickson. Clayton Village Constable Richard Teske. Adrian Police Department Patrolman Bobby Williams and Officer Dennis Lyons.
