Monroe County, MI – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has announced that they made an arrest, and someone has been arraigned, for their alleged role in an armed robbery in Ida Township.

Sheriff Troy Goodnough reports that the incident took place at the Ida Party Stop in late April.

He says that an unknown subject entered the store wearing a facemask, coveralls, and gloves. While inside the suspect implied a weapon while demanding and receiving money from a store employee. The suspect then fled the store on foot to a vehicle that was waiting nearby.

After talking with numerous witnesses, Deputies were able to develop a suspect and a possible suspect vehicle with a partial Michigan license plate. Using FLOCK license plate reader technology investigators were able to identify the entire license plate and found it fled to Toledo, Ohio.

After other evidence and witness statements gathered by the MCSO, a warrant request was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office. It was granted…and Anthony Cline was arrested in Toledo…and was lodged at the Lucas County Jail.

He was arraigned Thursday in Monroe County District Court for ‘Armed Robbery.’

The Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that, as with all criminal proceedings, the defendant is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
