
Franklin Twp., MI – A driver was flown by Survival Flight to an area hospital in critical condition as the result of a two car crash at US-12 and M-52 in Franklin Township. The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at around 11:30 AM Thursday.
According to Sheriff Deputies, a red Jeep Wrangler was northbound on M-52 driven by an 85-year-old female from Manchester. The second vehicle, a silver Dodge Avenger was traveling westbound on US 12 and driven by an 89-year-old female from Onsted.
Witnesses stated the westbound silver Avenger failed to stop at the red light and entered the intersection and was struck by the Jeep Wrangler. The driver of the silver Avenger was flown by Survival Flight to an area hospital and is in critical condition.
The driver of the Jeep was transported via ambulance to an area hospital in stable condition. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The crash is under further investigation.
