Adrian, MI – ProMedica Farms is thanking the ProMedica Hickman Hospital Auxiliary for their recent donations to the farm. ProMedica Farms, established in 2013 with the help of a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) grant and Lenawee Health Network, sits on three acres of the ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital campus. The farm is also home to the Veggie Mobile, a mobile produce market truck providing community members access to fresh fruits and vegetables at nineteen locations in the community.

The farm includes an indoor therapeutic hoop-house garden and three outdoor garden areas. The Auxiliary made a generous donation in 2023, gifting a Kubota RTV and a 2023 Elite Liberty EZ-Go Golf Cart. These items are essential pieces of equipment on the Farm for daily projects, including moving mulch and soil amendments to the garden areas, transplanting plants to the gardens and harvesting produce out of the gardens.

The golf cart has already proven to improve accessibility and enjoyment of participation in garden activities for seniors and mobility-challenged visitors and volunteers. Veggie Mobile produce sales and garden tours occur on Thursdays from 3 – 4 p.m. during spring and summer at ProMedica Farms.
