Woodstock Township, MI – A two vehicle crash Thursday morning at around 11:41 am at the intersection of US-223 near Harold Hwy in Woodstock Township ended with a fatality.

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Deputies reported that a delivery truck, driven by a 74 year old man from Harrison, Michigan, was traveling east on US-223 and was stopping for construction traffic. A passenger vehicle driven by a 52 year old man from Adrian was also traveling eastbound on US-223. The driver of the passenger vehicle did not see the delivery truck and was unable to come to a stop before crashing into the rear of the truck.

The front seat passenger of that vehicle, a 58 year old male from Adrian, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin for the passenger has been notified, but the names of the subjects involved are being withheld to give the family time to be fully notified.

According to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Deputies, neither driver was injured and all occupants of the vehicles were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The accident is under further investigation by The Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team.

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Tecumseh Police, the Addison Fire Department and the Cambridge and Somerset Township Fire Departments.
