Bicyclist Struck by Vehicle on US 223 in Madison Twp. Saturday, Transported to Hospital for Treatment

Madison Twp., MI – An 18-year-old male bicyclist was struck by a vehicle on US 223 in the area of Treat Highway Saturday afternoon. Madison Township Police Chief David Gentner reports that officers were dispatched to the area at around 2pm for the crash.

A vehicle driven by a 22-year-old male was traveling east bound on E US Hwy 223 when, police say, the bicyclist on the eastbound shoulder made an abrupt turn and crossed traffic. The male riding the bicycle was then struck by the vehicle, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle did not suffer any injuries. This crash remains under investigation.

The Madison Township Police Department was aided by the Madison Township Fire Department, Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, the Adrian City Police Department and Adrian City Fire Department.
