Tecumseh City Council Approves Evans Street Corridor Plan

Tecumseh, MI – The Tecumseh City Council has officially adopted their new Evans Street Corridor Plan. This document lays-out a vision that the community would like to see for property along North and South Evans Street. Most of the plan would keep current land uses in place, with the most change taking place at the former Tecumseh Products Site, a 55-acre parcel on South Evans Street.

Tecumseh City Manager Dan Swallow told WLEN News that the plan would set the City up for possible zoning changes. He noted that when Lenawee County purchased the property for $2.3 million back in 2021, the intended purpose was not for the current zoning layout…

 

The Lenawee County Board of Commissioners have heard a few proposals for the ‘Products’ site since the recreation facility, Project Phoenix, was put on the shelf…but nothing has come to fruition. The County Board recently voted 5-4 to not accept industrial proposals for the site.
