45-Year-Old Convicted of First-Degree Homicide in Death of 23-Year-Old Monroe Resident

Monroe, MI – A 45 year old Frenchtown Township resident was recently convicted of First-Degree Homicide and Conspiracy to Commit Homicide in connection to the death of a 23 year old Monroe resident.

The Michigan State Police reports that Steven Bails was found guilty on those charges in connection to the death of Kayla Sedoskey. Her body was found in the abandoned Boysville Facility in Frenchtown Township in March of 2023.

The Michigan State Police conducted an extensive year-long investigation into her death and subsequently arrested six suspects, including Steven Bails. In addition to the conviction, Narena Bails and Sierra Bemis previously pled guilty to Second Degree Homicide.

Alexander Feko previously pled guilty to Tampering with Evidence and three counts of Accessory to Homicide after the Fact. Brin Smith and Kaylyn Ramsey are both awaiting trial for the charges of First-Degree Homicide and Conspiracy to Commit Homicide.
