Lenawee County, MI – Michigan 5th District Republican Congressman Tim Walberg has filed the maximum number of petition signatures to secure a spot on the ballot for the upcoming election.
Walberg spokesman Mike Rorke says the congressman signed his affidavit in the Jackson County Clerk’s office.
The Federal Elections Commission says the only other Republican to file in the 5th District so far is Bryan Trouten.
Walberg is seeking his ninth term in office. No Democrat candidates have filed yet.
The filing deadline to get on the August Primary ballot is April 23rd.
