Monroe, MI – Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough is reporting the death of a female in the area of 15455 South Dixie Highway, in Monroe Township.
Monroe County Central Dispatch received a call regarding a deceased female, on Wednesday, located in a wooded area alongside the quarry near 15455 S. Dixie Hwy.
A Deputy, along with the Monroe Township Fire Department and Monroe Community Ambulance responded to the area and located a deceased, middle aged, Caucasian female.
Detectives responded to the scene, and as of Wednesday afternoon, there were no obvious signs of trauma. The identity of the victim is not confirmed, however detectives are following up on leads from the scene to positively identify her.
At this time, there is no reason to believe she is listed as a missing person. The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe County Detective Bureau.
