Officer-Involved Shooting at Ogden Twp. Residence Early Saturday Morning

Ogden Twp., MI – Three Deputy Sheriffs from the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office were involved in an Officer-involved shooting on Saturday morning at around 1:25 am in the 13000 block of Neuroth Highway in Ogden Township.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that Lenawee County 911 Dispatch Center received a call from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office requesting help in locating a suspect in a shooting of a home in Fulton County and is believed to be highly intoxicated and in possession of a handgun.

Lenawee County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the address on Neuroth Highway, as they approached the house Deputies observed the 53-year-old male suspect inside the suspect’s residence. The LCSO says that deputies identified themselves and requested the suspect come out through the front door. The suspect refused and verbally threaten to shoot the Deputy.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that seconds later the suspect came out the back door armed with a handgun and appeared to be pointing the gun at Deputies who gave loud verbal commands as they retreated and fired at the suspect to stop the threat.

Deputies immediately administered life-saving treatment to the suspect who was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and is expected to recover. The three Sheriff’s Deputies were not injured and placed on administrative leave per the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office policy. The Sheriff’s Office requested the Michigan State Police respond and conduct the investigation.
