The City reminds residents that all yard waste shall be placed in biodegradable and/ or compostable paper bags and must not weigh more than fifty pounds. Unapproved containers, including plastic bags, will not be picked up for collection.

Bundled branches and brush must meet the following guidelines:

• Bundles weigh less than fifty (50) pounds.

If you have your yard waste bagged and bundled prior to the pick-up dates, you may call the Department of Public Works to schedule an appointment to take it to the compost site.

The compost site, located off of Oakwood Ave, will open on Saturday May 4th. Hours of operation are Tuesdays from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

All yard waste deposited at the compost site in anything other than biodegradable and/ or compostable paper bags must be removed from the bag or container. Contact Department of Public Services with questions at 517-264-4888.
