Adrian, MI – The City of Adrian will apply for grant funding to help with the redesign and construction efforts on a downtown stretch of North Winter Street…but is it the right design for bikers?
Earlier this month, the city held an Open House, which gave residents a chance to look at the redevelopment plan. At the recent City Commission regular meeting, public comment was put on the record in support of the bike lanes idea…but not necessarily in support of the proposed layout.
Adrian resident, Jerick Timm, spoke at the meeting. He is in favor of adding bike lanes, but thinks the design should be improved…
Commissioner Bob Behnke said that it’s important to turn to local experts and users when making these types of decisions…
Adrian Mayor Angie Heath responded to the feedback as well, saying that projects like this are about quality of life..
The deadline for submitting the grant for funding the Winter Street Reconstruction is the end of February.
