Juvenile Charged with Shooting, Killing, Addison Man During Hunting Trip in Lenawee Co.

*** UPDATE: The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office has issued a correction to their press release. The name of the juvenile charged is Trenton Berry*** The change has been reflected in the article below:

Adrian, MI – A juvenile has been charged with shooting and killing a 41-year-old Addison man during a hunting trip in Lenawee County back in November of 2023. The Lenawee County Sheriff Troy Bevier says that on February 12th, 2024 Detectives from the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office arrested 17-year-old Trenton Berry for Open Murder stemming from the shooting on Rome Road.

At the time of the shooting the suspect’s mother was in a dating relationship with the victim, 41-year-old Kirt Stubbins, from Addison. He was taken into custody without incident at a residence in Jackson, Michigan where he was staying. Today, Berry was charged as an adult and arraigned on charges of Open Murder with a ten-million-dollar bond and Felony Possession of a Firearm with a five-thousand-dollar bond. Berry remains in custody until  his next hearing in March.
