Ridgeway Twp., MI – A 55-year-old Onsted area woman died at the scene of a crash on M-50 near Rixom Highway Monday morning. Lenawee County Sheriff Troy Bevier reports that Deputies responded to the two-vehicle crash at around 7:20am.
When Deputies arrived on the scene they located the Onsted area woman, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to Sheriff’s Deputies, the deceased female victim was driving a 2015 Chevy Malibu eastbound on M-50 when a 2011 Ford F350 truck driven by a 23-year-old from Dundee traveling westbound crossed the center line and struck the Chevy Malibu head-on.
The female driver of the Ford F350 was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Names of the subjects involved are being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
The Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene and the crash is under further investigation. The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Tecumseh Police Department, Lenawee County Drone Team, Ridgeway Township Fire Department, Lenawee Community Ambulance and the Lenawee County Medical Examiners Office.
