Adrian, MI – JR’s Hometown Grill & Pub, in Adrian, will close their doors this coming Sunday, January 28th. Locations in Milan, Brooklyn, and Tecumseh will close effective today, according to owner Robert Loudermilk.
In a conversation with WLEN News Tuesday, Loudermilk said that he is completely devastated to have to close the restaurants, and for the dozens of employees that had been working for him. He hoped that JR’s locations were a point of positive impact for the communities that they served.
Loudermilk, in a statement posted on social media and at the restaurant locations, said that COVID shutdowns, rebuilding staffing, increasing costs of operations and decreased sales led to the closures. The Adrian location had been open for 15 years.
As for the physical buildings, Loudermilk told WLEN News that he leased them, so it is unclear what could become of the JR’s locations. Outstanding gift cards will be honored for patrons at the Adrian restaurant until they run out of product.
