Blissfield, MI – The U.S. Navy is shining the spotlight on Andrew Barbas, from Blissfield, for his work on a guided-missile destroyer. Quartermaster 2nd Class Andrew Barbas tracks the ship’s heading, speed and course changes in the deck log during a sea and anchor detail aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett while in-transit to Manila, Philippines.
USS Sterett is in the Philippines for a scheduled port visit, supporting operational readiness and regional partnerships. Sterett is assigned to Carrier Strike Group 1 and deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.
