Hudson, MI – There are several possible funding sources for replacing the Beecher Road bridge near US-127 which was damaged by fire in early November, and has been closed since.

The Lenawee County Road Commission is tasked with figuring out how to secure resources for the project. Managing Director / Engineer Scott Merillat told WLEN News that they usually apply for funding three years in advance…

Merillat said that the LCRC is taking a different approach to this project…

Since the bridge sustained damage from a fire, and did not fall into close due to ‘normal’ wear and tear… the Road Commission will look at other funding sources to replace the Beecher Road bridge…

The earliest construction could possibly start is 2025.
