Adrian, MI – Adrian City Attorney, John Gillooly, and Garan Lucow Miller PC have submitted their resignation, effective immediately. They had been the City’s legal council since 2021, when they were hired on an interim basis. That tag was dropped in the Spring of 2022.

Gillooly’s resignation must be approved by the City Commission at Monday’s meeting, as a formality. The reason for the resignation was not made public. There is also a resolution on the Commission’s agenda for Monday to appoint Castleberry and Lucas as Interim City Attorney. The firm already represents many municipalities across Lenawee County and the surrounding area.

If approved, former Lenawee County Prosecutor Burke Castleberry would be the principal point of contact.
