6-Year-Old Child Went Missing in Monroe Township; Found Safe in City of Monroe

Monroe, MI – Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough reported that late Saturday afternoon the Monroe County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Greenwycke Lane in Monroe Township in regards to a missing 6-year-old female.

Sheriff Deputies conducted a door to door search in the apartment complex. The search was assisted by members of the Monroe Township Fire Department, LaSalle Township Fire Department, Monroe County Animal Control and Monroe Community Ambulance. During the search, deputies learned that the missing female was possibly at a location in the City of Monroe. Officers from the Monroe Police Department along with Sheriff Deputies responded to the location and found the missing child. The child was safe and unharmed.

The incident remains under investigation by Child Protective Services and Deputies from the Uniformed Services Division. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call 734-240-7553. Sheriff Goodnough thanks the citizens for their quick assistance in sharing information that assisted in the recovery of the missing child.
