Adrian, MI – Residents and businesses on the City of Adrian water distribution system may have been experiencing taste and odor changes recently, with some saying it tastes “dirty.”
WLEN News reached out to the City of Adrian Utilities Director, Will Sadler, and asked what the issue was. He said that:
“We normally transition into our winter mode this time of year by decreasing the amount of well water and increasing the amount of lake water used. Unfortunately, we’ve had higher temperatures than normal and increased rain forcing run-off into the lake (stirring it up). We have increased the amount of well water and have already seen signs of improvement in the taste and odor. While the odor and smell can be unpleasant to some, the water remains safe to drink.”
